On Friday 16th November the Amethyst Academies trust held it’s first conference speaking about our experiences moving to a Knowledge Rich Curriculum. We were joined by colleagues from across the West Midlands keen to find out more about our journey, how we approached problems and how we solved them along the way.
Throughout the morning session we had presenters from both school’s in the trust who spoke about different aspects of how we came to our new curriculum and how it is working in the classroom.
We also had a passionate and energizing speech from Loraine Lynch-Kelly, the vice-principal of teaching and learning at Saint Martin’s Catholic Academy. Mrs Lynch-Kelly is fully behind the knowledge rich curriculum and it certainly showed in her inspiring speech to our guests. Thank you so much being there with us on the day.
So far the feedback has been fantastic and we’d like to share some of the quotes with you along with a video of the knowledge rich curriculum in action and a video of quotes from staff and students that we gathered when we were 10 weeks into the project.
“Brilliant day – lots of information that I can use to think about our curriculum.”
“The tours of the schools really helped to consolidate the theory sessions.”
“Fantastic day; very informative and gave me a much better understanding of the knowledge curriculum.”
“An enjoyable and thought provoking experience. Overall a fantastic experience!”
